The avbbc desk
A small editorial desk that maintains the directory and writes the field notes. Not a byline farm — the same people who check listings write about them.
What this desk does
Every reviewed listing on this site is read, checked against the vendor's own documentation, and dated. The field notes are the working record: what broke, what got abandoned, what the pricing arithmetic actually looks like. If a tool is bad, the note says so.
How to judge the writing
Three tests, in order. Does the page carry a date? Does it name the constraint the tool is built around rather than listing features? Does it ever tell you not to buy something? A directory that never says no is an advertising page with a search box.
Accountability
The editorial policy states what money can and cannot buy here. If a note violates it, email [email protected] and it will be corrected on the page, with the correction noted rather than silently edited.
