How we verify listings

A page is published only when it passes a fixed checklist. The checklist is public so you can judge the result by the standard we claim.

The publication gate

A listing needs at least six verified facts, a description of 120 characters or more written for this site, a working URL, and a date. Anything below that is stored but not published.

Facts we re-check

  • Whether the primary URL still resolves and is not parked.
  • Pricing page: plan names and entry price.
  • For MCP servers: repository activity, install command, and whether the project is archived.
  • For tools: free-tier availability, which changes more often than price.

What automatic does and does not do

Collection and comparison are automated: repository metadata, package versions, pricing-page diffs, and link health. Judgment is not. Category fit, the one-line verdict, and anything that reads like a recommendation are written and reviewed by a person.

When a check fails

The listing is unpublished automatically rather than left up with a stale price. If a product shuts down, the page is removed and the URL returns a 410 so search engines drop it quickly.

Corrections

Every page carries a last-verified date. If it is more than 30 days old, treat the pricing as approximate and tell us — a correction usually lands within a week.
