Code review, testing, and refactor habits the agent should follow

Teams that want output without changing how they work

What it is

A working set of skills written by an engineer rather than a prompt collector: code review passes, test-first workflows, incremental refactoring, and the unglamorous parts of shipping. Each skill is short and opinionated, which is the point — a skill that hedges every instruction gives the agent nothing to anchor on. Good starting point if you want skills that change how code is written rather than how text is phrased.

Install

Clone the repository, then copy the skill folder into your agent's skills directory — ~/.claude/skills/ for Claude Code. Skills are plain files: no build step, no daemon.

Terminal
git clone https://github.com/addyosmani/agent-skills.git

How to judge it

Read the SKILL.md before you install. A good skill states when it applies, what it must not do, and how to verify the result. A skill that only lists adjectives will change the agent's tone without improving its output — skip those.

Other Coding & Dev skills

  • Archify — Turns a plan, a spec, or a codebase into an interactive architecture diagram.
  • Ponytail — Makes the agent argue for less code before it writes more.
  • Planning with Files — Keeps the plan in markdown on disk, so a crashed session resumes instead of restarting.
