Agent Rules from Books
AGENTS.md rules distilled from Clean Code and similar books.
Use it for
Teams that already agree with the books behind the rules
Skip it if
Codebases that deliberately break those conventions
What it is
Turns well-known software books into rules an agent can follow: naming, function size, error handling. The interesting question it raises is whether rules extracted from books improve output or just add ceremony — and the honest answer is that the ones phrased as prohibitions do, the aspirational ones do not.
Install
Clone the repository, then copy the skill folder into your agent's skills directory — ~/.claude/skills/ for Claude Code. Skills are plain files: no build step, no daemon.
git clone https://github.com/ciembor/agent-rules-books.git
How to judge it
Read the SKILL.md before you install. A good skill states when it applies, what it must not do, and how to verify the result. A skill that only lists adjectives will change the agent's tone without improving its output — skip those.
