claude-mem
Keeps a compressed memory of what the agent did across sessions.
Use it for
Long-running projects across many sessions
Skip it if
Debugging, where a stale memory can hide the actual cause
What it is
Captures session activity, compresses it, and re-injects the parts that matter next time, so a new session does not start by re-reading the same files. The trade is explicit: you get continuity, and you give up the clean slate that makes debugging easier. Compress aggressively or it becomes context debt.
Install
Clone the repository, then copy the skill folder into your agent's skills directory — ~/.claude/skills/ for Claude Code. Skills are plain files: no build step, no daemon.
git clone https://github.com/thedotmack/claude-mem.git
How to judge it
Read the SKILL.md before you install. A good skill states when it applies, what it must not do, and how to verify the result. A skill that only lists adjectives will change the agent's tone without improving its output — skip those.
